The BMW dealer should be able to confirm whether or not the CD player is MP3 compatible. Looking at the BMW website the spec for a 520d SE says "BMW Business radio with single CD" (it also says "Preparation for six CD changer" ! ) Though for instance for a Z4M it says "BMW Business radio with single CD and MP3 compatibility".
Yes, I already have a relay installed to power the video module and DVD player. Power comes from CDC power wire connectors. The video module consumers 750ma and the DVD player consumes 1.5 amps. There is enough power on the CD changer power wiring to drive the video module and DVD player.
