Kloky. 92. Wow, I am surprised that I never listened to this band. Gothic metal at its finest: punchy drums, blissful vocals, groovy bass and catchy riffs. This album also has some punk elements but I think that they are the weakest side of the album. I am really looking forward to listen to other projects by this band. TYPE O NEGATIVE's music often featured tongue-in-cheek references to pop culture and everyday life, such as their cover of the song "Summer Breeze." 8 - Following the success of TYPE O NEGATIVE 's 1993 album " Bloody Kisses ", Peter began to receive attention outside of music, eventually appearing as a nude centerfold in Playgirl Rating: 9.2. The Brooklyn-based band decided to issue a disclaimer for their second album stating:"Don't Mistake Lack of Talent for Genius.". Although it's a tongue in cheek statement, over the years it can be accurately applied to them. On Bloody Kisses is where the drab four flirted with 'genius'. Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses (1993) The first release on Roadrunner to go platinum and sell a million copies, Type O Negative's third album remains an important landmark in the label's history and a genuinely incredible record in its own right. There really was no other a band like this Brooklyn four-piece; their unusual melting pot of Bloody Kisses is primarily a heavy metal album with gothic overtones, and with a very strong sense of melody spread throughout the album. The songs are very slow-tempoed and the guitars fuzzed out, and they feature deep and scary vocals. The lyrics primarily center around love, sex, death, religion, and setting Peter Steele on fire. 180g, green and black swirl vinyl manufactured at Record Industry in the Netherlands. Comes in a tri-fold direct to board Stoughton jacket. The original, reissued album spans from sides A to D. Sides E and F contain bonus tracks. Runouts are etched, with the exception of 24482 Record Industry pressing number which is stamped. With one of the most infamous album covers of all time - a photo of a man decapitated by a train - the young "extreme gorehounds" in Unsane spat out one of the most brutal, punishing debuts ever. It's a gut-punch of searing noise-rock. Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses (1993) A true surprise on this album is the cover song "Summer Breeze." Originally released in 1972 by Seals & Crofts, this cover is definitely not something that you would think to hear from Type O Negative, but it is an excellent cover! 'Bloody Kisses,' is Type O Negative's most famous work. That is a fact. Is it the best? That, is a matter of The song's subject matter wasn't surprising to anyone who bought the previous Type O Negative album, Bloody Kisses, which shows two women on the cover in the throes of passion. The "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" single art also shows two women, but with Peter Steele on top of them. 7) Origin Of The Feces. The hairy ringpiece on the original cover - in fact a multi-level intellectual in-joke subverting Charles Darwin and Gustave Coubert - perfectly signposted the attitude of Type O's second release; a spoof anti-live album with comedically antagonistic audience interaction, memorialising the period when their concerted chain-yanking saw the band emerge as divisive On August 17, 1993, Type O Negative would release a record that was "something different" in the ways of Bloody Kisses. The album was a further departure from Peter Steele's Metal/Hardcore/Crossover band Carnivore as Bloody Kisses took on a much more dramatic gothic sound that was heavy. In a very different way than what we heard on the Type O Negative's final album, Dead Again, saw the band continue their upswing felt on Life Is Killing Me, mixing in some of the their heaviest riffs to date with more punchy jams spliced between The album's first two singles repositioned Type O at the forefront of a non-existent goth metal scene. Black No.1 (Little Miss Scare-All) was a sarcastic, multi-part 11-minute ode to a girlfriend who had wronged the singer, that came with Addams Family -style finger clicks. Type O Negative - Christian Womanfrom the album ''Bloody Kisses'' (1993)Lyrics:Forgive her for she knows not what she doesA cross upon her bedroom wallFrom g When do you think Type-O-Negative turned into a "commercial band"? No question about it: the Bloody Kisses album, and absolutely the combined impact of "Black No. 1" and "Christian Woman .
